About Collingwood

Collingwood, Ontario is located a short drive from the famous Blue Mountains Resort & Village, an alpine-themed ski and spa experience. Located on the shores of Nottawasaga Bay, this idyllic small town captures the imaginations of visitors with charming historic homes, an extensive trail network, sandy beaches, and an annual Elvis Festival.

The Collingwood Heritage Conservation District encompasses a significant area within the city limits including the historic downtown with its many century buildings, now occupied by trendy and hip eateries and entertainment venues. Nearby, Creative Simcoe Street is home to several artist’s studios, art galleries and restaurants. It also features the Collingwood Museum and Collingwood Public Library and the Simcoe Street Theatre.

The town is a major recreation area for Southern Ontario, welcoming about one million visitors each year to the sand and slopes. A short distance from Wasaga Beach and the longest freshwater sand beach in the world, lake breezes keep things cool during the hot summer months. Fall temperatures are usually pleasant and mild with some of the warmest days in Canada during this time of year. Winter is when things really begin to happen with heavy, lake-effect snowfalls that blanket the ski hills and provide winter wonderland vistas.

Collingwood real estate

The Collingwood real estate market is comparable to Whistler, B.C. and Mont Blanc, Quebec due the quality of the skiing and demand for weekend homes. It offers exciting opportunities for home buyers in the vibrant communities around the resort and in the village itself. Sales are generally strong year round with a good selection of ski-in/out homes, condominiums, and single family residendences. Contact me with your questions about Collingwood real estate.
